Synod: Together Events

30th September 2023

TOGETHER: Gathering of the People of God

As the Synod in Rome begins in October, we encourage people to pray for the Synod and in particular for the delegates from the Irish Church, Bishop Alan McGuckian SJ and Bishop Brendan Leahy.

St Patrick’s Donegall St, Belfast will host a prayer service to pray for the Synod on Saturday 30th September at 7pm. This ecumenical service will include Taizé music, and everyone is welcome. It is our Diocesan response to Pope Francis’ invitation to prayer: “The path to Christian unity and the path of synodal conversion of the Church are linked. I invite brothers and sisters of all Christian denominations to participate in this “Gathering of the People of God” as we will entrust the work of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops.
