Annual Christmas appeal for Utility Street Hostel.
Some members of our parish Youth Faith Group visited Utility Street Men’s Hostel last Saturday morning and delivered Christmas gifts for it’s residents. Over the last few weeks they have been putting gift bags together, one for each of the 59 residents.
A request from the manager at the hostel for a replacement washing machine had also been made so the group took up a collection and were able to supply and deliver a new machine.
As most of these young people who made the visit have chosen to take part in the Pope John II award within the parish, this act of kindness will count towards the ‘social awareness activities’ that form part of the award.
May we take this opportunity to thank all of our young people who helped make this a success and may we also thank all of the parents/guardians who offer great support and encouragement to all our group leaders and volunteers.
