Praying the Rosary
Rosary Week: Sunday 5th October – Saturday 11th October
The Rosary is our great Bible Prayer! The Mysteries, or sacred events remembered, are drawn from the Gospel and the writings of the Apostles. The core prayers, The Lord’s Prayer, The Hail Mary, and The Glory be to the Father are also drawn from scripture. In praying the Rosary, we are contemplating God’s loving mercy towards all humanity. Pope Leo has asked that we pray especially for world peace. Each night, at 6.30pm, (5.30pm on Saturday) during Rosary Week (5th - 11th October) we will reflect on aspects of the Rosary as well as praying the Rosary
Sunday, 5th October, 6.30pm – Hail Holy Queen, mother of Mercy; no one knows Jesus like Mary, she can teach us about him. We pray the Glorious Mysteries.
Monday, 6th October, 6.30pm – Remembering Jesus with Mary. We pray the Joyful Mysteries. Evening Mass follows.
Tuesday, 7th October, 6.30pm – Proclaiming Christ with Mary. We pray the Sorrowful Mysteries (Feast of the Holy Rosary).
Wednesday, 8th October, 6.30pm – Learning Christ from Mary. We pray the Glorious Mysteries
Thursday, 9th October, 6.30pm – The public ministry of Jesus - Mary remains in the background. We pray the Mysteries of Light.
